Sunset of an October Past

A crash of waves. One after another. Turquoise, emerald, sapphire waters churn, advance, retreat. Little crabs scatter, jittery, wary. The sun has set. And the clouds capture a last tinge of magenta. Gold hugs the horizon, slowly deepening as the minutes pass. A deep blue sky above, then black. And then one by one the stars appear.
