Rick Sammon and Rob Knight Teach Digital Photo Experience Workshop in Atlanta
This weekend I had the pleasure of tagging along with Rick Sammon and Rob Knight as they conducted a two-day Digital Photo Experience workshop. The first day - held at the Carter Center in Atlanta - was a two-part class room lecture series. The morning session was taught by Rick. He covered many tried and true basics of getting your best from digital photography and touched on HDR photography. After lunch, Rob Knight dove into Adobe Lightroom 3. The following day, we went to Little Five Points. There Rick and Rob covered many aspects of lighting a model.
My role was to shoot a behind-the-scenes video. Here's a parting shot that my son, Eric, took of me filming Rick with my Canon EOS 5D Mark II.
Though I did not get a chance to shoot many stills, I did manage to grab this abstract looking photo from within the Carter Center conference area where the workshop was conducted. During the afternoon session, I happen to notice that light from outside was backlighting the Chihuly sculpture. So, I seized the moment with this three quick frames. Shortly afterwards the light faded away.
