Philip Bloom at Canon Filmmakers Live in Atlanta
While I've spoken with and exchanged emails and tweets with Philip Bloom, I had not met him in person until this past Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at the Canon Filmmakers Live event in Atlanta, Georgia. The event was held at the Studio Movie Grill located on Holcombe Bridge Road north of Atlanta. It was a pleasure meeting Philip and also the amazing hosts and organizers of the Canon Filmmakers Live event: Cristina Valdivieso and Jon Connor. I also had the opportunity to get to know Joe Stunzi, a young filmmaker and Bloom intern alumni.
I had the privilege of representing Eric Kessler and Kessler Crane. It was fun demonstrating Kessler Crane gear including the KC-Lite, the K-Pod and Hercules system, the Cineslider, and the Oracle controller. There was lot's of interest in the gear, and it was fun talking with and answering questions.
Over 80 HDSLR enthusiasts attended the event in Atlanta. It was a lively audience. One of the youngest attendees was just 12 years old. He managed to win a Rode microphone after an intense show down with another finalist :) Many questions were asked by the audience and Philip graciously answered. Twitter was ablaze with tweets about the event. I believe one attendee managed to drain his iPhone battery before the end of the event because he tweeted so much!
I would like to thank Cristina, Jon, and Philip for allowing me to have a small role at the Canon Filmmakers Live event in Atlanta. I also want to thank Michael Fulcher for filming this segment for me. You may recall he is the Director of Photography for the feature film Undocumented Executive that was highlighted in a planet5D and Digital Film TV podcast.
