Mammoth 20x24 Large Format Polaroid Coming to Atlanta at HATHAWAY Contemporary Gallery
I just received an exciting heads-up from John Reuter - Executive Director of Polaroid 20x24 Studio - that this mammoth Polaroid view camera will be in Atlanta at HATHAWAY Contemporary Gallery from October 27 through October 29, 2016.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to have a portrait taken with this historic camera. The existing instant film stock is running out and the 20x24 Studio will cease operations by the end of 2017. John Reuter appeared on the Digital Convergence Podcast in episode 171 and talked about this remarkable camera and the documentary he has been working on called Camera Ready: The Polaroid 20x24 Project. He's capturing the amazing story of the camera, the people behind it, and the artists who used it in this compelling documentary.
John is going to show clips from Camera Ready at HATHAWAY Contemporary Gallery. He's scheduled to participate in an Artist Talk session at the gallery Thursday, 6 PM (Eastern), on October 27, 2016.
While the 20x24 Polaroid is in Atlanta, John Reuter and Atlanta-based fine art photographer, Sheila Pree Bright, will be using this historic camera for three days of live portrait sessions. The results will no doubt be stunning! To book a one-of-a-kind portrait session, visit HATHAWAY's website.
