DCP 85: The 7D v2.0

The Digital Convergence Podcast triumvirate returns in episode number 85. We're a day late getting this episode out because I was under the weather yesterday. Chris Fenwick, planetMitch, and I (Carl Olson) chat about a number of things today in the world of photography, video, and post-production.

The lead story from the planet5d.com newsroom is Canon's release of the version 2.0 firmware update for the Canon EOS 7D. planetMitch explains what is in this update and what it means for photographers and videographers. As usual we go on a tangent on the value of having malleable hardware - hardware that can be updated with new features with just a software update. We talk, too, about the Blackmagic Design Cinema Camara - can it be rightly called a "baby Arri?"

We're just 15 episodes away from our 100th episode. Chris, Mitch and I want to thank our listeners for their support of the show and for getting the word out about the podcast. We are now in the top 1% of all podcasts in number of downloads. We're making plans for what we hope proves to be an exciting 100th episode.

The opening mashup song "The Fenwick Effect" is by Darren Yamamoto (aka @ElementPics). Thanks, Darren, for supporting the show and sending us that fun collection of Fenisms.
